Annual Grant Making

2024

Overview

2024, the third year of our Foundation’s grant making, was a year of learning and growth for the Foundation. While the Foundation continued its partnership journey it also started to build its own direct relationships with grantees. Throughout the year the Foundation remained focused on programmes and organisations under its three grant making pillars:

  • Community Resilience
  • Environment Sustainability
  • Global Giving

In all, our Foundation supported over 30 organisations in 2024 and also co-funded a number of projects as a participant in funds with Community Foundation Ireland (Biodiversity fund) and Rethink Ireland’s (Impact Fund for Munster 2024).

Highlights

Community Resilience—The Foundation was delighted to partner with Dublin City University to support ‘Lablife’ an innovative health programme designed to improve the health knowledge, choices and behaviours of young people. Via Community Foundation Ireland, the Foundation continued to support the immigrant community in Ireland.

Environment Sustainability—In addition to directly supporting the Co-Centre for Climate Biodiversity and Water (Climate +) led by Trinity College Dublin by way of a number of PhD scholarships, the Foundation also worked closely with the Community Foundation Ireland to support their national Community Biodiversity Fund.

Global Giving—The Foundation continued to work with organisations such as Goal, Trocaire and Vita. The Foundation also commissioned a joint study into Humanitarian Crises Response. The study will be used to complete the Foundations Crisis Response Policy in 2025.

Looking Ahead

A key priority for 2025 is to continue to develop relationships with key partners and to source projects which are in line with our strategic priorities. By combining direct grant making with collaborative partnerships the Foundation will continue to support impactful initiatives that deliver sustainable change.
